Do You Know New Traffic Rules In India

Documents must be taken if you are taking a bike or car out of the house. Previously only physical documents had to be taken. But with the advent of technology like Digi Locker it is enough to just show soft copies. However, some traffic police officers, despite showing digital documents, are demanding physical documents. Motorists are in serious trouble in such cases. It was in this context that the Central Department of Road Transport and Highways made changes in the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1989. They are coming into effect from October 1st. Look at Avento here.  Any traffic officer stops the vehicle while going on the road .. If you ask for vehicle documents, driving license, it is enough to show digital documents. If the digital documents are correct, the authorities should not ask for the physical documents. Physical documents should not be demanded even if he has committed any offense. That record needs to be maintained electronically. Thereby monitoring the driver’s behavior.

If any vehicle is stopped on the road and the vehicle documents and driver's license are checked .. the date and time along with the details of the vehicle should be registered online immediately by the concerned officer. So that there is no need for other officers to check again when moving elsewhere. Then the traffic crew will not waste time. The motorist gets into trouble.

Motorists can register their vehicle documents in the central government portal Digi-locker or m-parivahan. Saving them online eliminates the need to carry physical documents with you. If someone stops the traffic officers on the road and asks for documents .. it is enough to show them online.

Mobile phones should be used only for navigation (route map) while driving. It should also not be such as to impair the driver's concentration while driving.According to the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the Motor Vehicles (Driving) Regulations 2017 have also been amended to provide for the use of hand-held devices while driving and the electronic verification of vehicle documents.
